What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. Some are needed for the site to work. Others tell the site owner how the site is being used. This page covers which ones this site sets, and how to change your mind about them.
This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly.
Your choice
When you first arrive we ask whether you are happy for us to set analytics cookies. Nothing beyond what the site needs to function is set unless you accept. You can change your answer whenever you like, and we ask again after a year.
If nothing happens when you press that, JavaScript is turned off in your browser. In that case no analytics cookies are set at all, and your browser settings below remain the way to check.
What this site sets
Only if you accept, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It tells us how many people came and what they looked at. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it for advertising.

If you refuse, or you have not answered yet, none of the Google Analytics entries above are set. If you accept and later change your mind, we remove them.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and refuse them in future. The settings sit under Privacy in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and under Settings then Privacy in Safari. Blocking everything will stop parts of many websites working, though this one will still run.
Google publishes its own explanation of the data Analytics collects, and an opt-out you can install for every site at once, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
